Kitchen design and renovation

Kitchens designed around how you cook and gather, then built and installed to last.

Overview

The kitchen works harder than any other room in the house. We design it around the way you cook, entertain and move through the space, and then we make sure every detail is built properly.

A kitchen renovation is a chain of decisions: layout, storage, cabinetry, worktops, splashbacks, hardware, lighting and appliances. We guide you through each one in a sensible order, so the choices support each other and nothing is left to the last minute.

We look after the design and the coordination together, so the drawings, the cabinetry and the installation all match.

Many Richards Bay homes have kitchens that open onto patios and living areas, so we pay attention to how the kitchen sits within the wider space, as well as to finishes that suit the coastal humidity.

How we plan a kitchen

  • Layout

Work zones around the sink, hob and fridge, with clear circulation and space for people to gather without getting in the way.

  • Storage

Deep drawers for pots, tall units for groceries and a home for small appliances, so worktops stay clear.

  • Cabinetry and boards

Board, door finish and worktop selection, judged side by side so the combination works as a whole.

  • Hardware

Handles, hinges and drawer runners chosen for daily use as well as appearance.

  • Coordination

Plumbing, electrical and appliance connections must be done by qualified trades. Your quotation states which of these are included and who is responsible for each.

Questions

Can you renovate a kitchen without changing the whole layout?

Yes. Some kitchens only need new doors, worktops and hardware; others benefit from a new layout. We'll explain the options and the trade-offs during the consultation.

Do you handle the old kitchen removal?

Yes. Strip-out and installation are coordinated as part of the project.

Can the kitchen be designed together with flooring and lighting?

Yes, and we recommend it. Because we also supply flooring and design the surrounding spaces, the kitchen can be planned as part of the whole room.
